Died Spaghetti TASTE-SAFE Small World sensory invitation to play with baby animals for toddlers and preschoolers.

Dyed spaghetti is a TASTE-SAFE sensory filler for babies and toddlers since it is food-based. So, if you have little ones who still mouth things, set your sensory bin with PLAIN DYED SPAGHETTI. However, if you have a child 3 YR+ you can add other sensory fillers like water-beads to resemble water and pebbles to resemble the shore. Also, add the PLAYERS to ignite imagination and spark cognitive and social development. This Baby Animals Spaghetti Sensory Play will offer hours of fun hands-on learning through play!

Today, we are re-using blue spaghetti we have used to create the Ocean Taste Safe Small World Sensory Play (see here).

YOU’LL NEED to set Spaghetti Sensory Play

To resemble green grass, I am using cooked spaghetti. (I am re-using blue spaghetti we have, so simply place them in a ziplock, add green food coloring, shake well, and Wolla!)

To make your original dyed pasta: add about five squirts of food coloring to the water while cooking your pasta according to the instructions. (The major benefit is that pasta does NOT stain the hands!)

PASTA SENSORY BIN TIPS

TIPS: When setting up this Baby Animals Spaghetti Sensory Play, rinse cooked pasta with cold water and dry with a paper towel. Store in a ziplock in a fridge for a few days before tossing away.

(I generally use EXPIRED food or one that fell on the floor, or if it is not suitable for eating somehow, and I am VERY reluctant to use a LOT of edible food! So, open your cupboard and look for food that has passed its expiration date!)

SENSORY PLAY

In terms of Sensor Play, my motto is: they TOUCH it, they GET it, they MANIPULATE and it goes directly to their BRAIN! Did you know that triggering sensory stimulation fires multiple signals between neurons, which strengthens its connectivity and spurs neuroplasticity – aka the production of new connections and NEW neurons themselves increasing brain agility – all that from mere tactile stimulation!

To further stimulate those little hands, offer tongs to transfer pasta and scissors to cut it, both of which are awesome fine motor tools!

You can see this Baby Animals Spaghetti Sensory Play on Instagram here.

Please, always supervise your children while they are learning through play! Small items are choking hazard!
