A random moment in a Seuss gift shop stopped me in my tracks—and gave me the homeschool clarity I’d been chasing for years. Here’s what changed.
We were standing in the Cat in the Hat store at Universal Studios, Florida.
My husband was juggling two oversized souvenirs, our kids were giggling under piles of blue faux fur, and I was soaking in the moment—that chaotic, beautiful, slightly overstimulating moment.
When a line from Alice in Wonderland flashed through my mind. The one where Alice, dismally lost, was asking Cheshire the Cat:
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat.
“I don’t much care where,” said Alice.
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat.
Right there, under fluorescent lights and next to a life-sized plush Thing 1, it hit me like a lightning bolt.
We were Alice.
All of us. Homeschool moms. Parents. Families.
Craving direction…
But rarely defining the destination.
That moment in the Seuss gift shop reminded me of something I’d once read:
“The only real test of intelligence is if you know what you want out of life.” ~
Naval Ravikant.
It hit me like a truth bomb
Because if I’m honest? For years, I didn’t actually know what I wanted from homeschool. I just knew what I didn’t want: screen time, stress, and kids who dreaded learning. But that’s not the same as having a vision. Without direction, I was pouring energy into plans I wasn’t even sure aligned with our values.
Be Careful Whose Mountain You Are Climbing
You can spend years climbing someone else’s parenting mountain, only to reach the top, look around and realize it’s not even where you wanted to end up.
Whew.
That one stopped me cold.
How many of us are climbing a homeschool or parenting “mountain” someone else built—only to discover we’re exhausted, disconnected, and honestly…not even sure we want the view from the top?
I realized I had to stop doubling down on a losing hand—not because homeschool was failing, but because the way I was doing it wasn’t aligned with the why I started in the first place.
The best decision I ever made was to pause. To get honest. And to ask the question no workbook can answer for you:
What do I want our homeschool to feel like?
That’s when everything shifted. And it’s what led me to create the MKAP™ EXPERIENCE—not as another set of tasks or lessons, but as a compass to help you find your direction before you burn out on the climb.
The Crossroads We Don’t Talk About | Homeschool Clarity

We’ve been taking our kids to Disney since my daughter was a baby. (She’s 16 now, so you do the math.) In this photo, though, Julia is 5, and Adrian is 3. P.S. We still have those goofy Seuss hats. Only now the kids are tall enough to bump into ceiling fans.
But back then? I was doing what so many of us do in those early years:
- Bouncing between curriculum programs
- Trying every co-op, class, and Pinterest printable
- Desperately Googling “how to homeschool a 4-year-old without ruining them forever”
I was racing.
But I hadn’t really asked the question:
Where do I actually want to go with this homeschool journey?
The Real Cheshire Cat Question | Homeschool Clarity
So in the middle of Seussville, I asked myself:
What’s my homeschool for?
And my heart whispered back:
I want learning to feel like an adventure, not an obligation.
I want to nurture my kids’ absorbent little minds while their wonder is still wild and wide open.
I want to make these early years rich—not rushed.
That’s when everything changed.
From Chaos to Clarity
I didn’t need more stuff.
I needed a framework. A rhythm. A path.
One that aligned with:
My values
My kids’ natural curiosity
The way I actually wanted our days to feel
So I created MKAP™ EXPERIENCE—
Not just for me, but for every mom who’s standing in the homeschool aisle with 14 tabs open and no clear direction.
What Is MKAP™?
MKAP stands for Monthly Kids Activities Plan.
Because these years—from 1 to 6—are everything.
They’re the foundation years. The memory-makers. The brain-building window we don’t get back.
MKAP gives you each month:
- Ready-to-go activity plans rooted in Montessori and brain-based play (done for you, screen-free, and beautiful)
- Monthly support calls to help you lead with intention (not just react)
- Real connection with other MKAPtain Moms inside our supportive private Facebook Group
- Accountability to help you actually follow through
MKAP is not just a resource—it’s a movement. A space to connect, grow, and parent with purpose.
Because play isn’t extra—it’s essential.

No more darting from workbook to workbook.
No more scrolling Pinterest at midnight until your eyeballs cross.
No more second-guessing yourself every other week.
Imagine This:
You wake up on Monday with a plan you’re actually excited about.
Your kids are curious, not cranky.
Your table is messy—in the best way.
And your homeschool feels less like a chore…
And more like a journey.
A journey you’re choosing.
On purpose.
But … Doors Are Closing Soon
If you’re feeling like Alice—spinning in circles, hoping the next shiny method is finally the one—this is your sign.
Let MKAP™ EXPERIENCE be your compass.
Because more resources won’t bring peace. But clarity + connection + confidence? That changes everything.
