Julia was very excited to receive for her 7th Birthday LEGO Friends Heartlake Cupcake Café. 
Adrian (almost three yrs old) is not yet able to independently assemble these types of LEGO, but he still enjoys tinkering right next to Julia.

Both, Julia and Adrian really enjoyed this LEGO: it was not too overwhelming, and it had just enough pieces to keep children motivated to finish to see their final creation.
Another Birthday gift: Hot Air Balloon LEGO has a girl and a boy. It is perfect for Julia and Adrian since the set offers endless possibilities for role-play.
