💡 The earlier you start introducing your little one to numerals and quantities, the more success they will have later on in their academic lives. We “officially” started a Montessori Math curriculum with Adrian when he was two years old! I am a strong believer that I would rather be early than late. If the material is introduced too early, a child would simply show no interest and you, as an educator, would simply come back to it later. On the other hand, if the material is introduced too late, the sensitive window of opportunity is closed forever and the chance for a seemingness, natural and effortless absorption of information is now gone! .
Remember, repetition is the key to mastery.

1. a NUMERAL is a written symbol we, humans, decided to represent a particular quantity (written in black). 2. COUNTERS, also called manipulative, [here pony beads] help children build counting and subitizing abilities while expanding spatial awareness.
3. LEARN ADDENDS of each numeral 2-10!! If children memorize which combinations make each number, they will ace any math problem in a future.⚠️I purposely broke each number into its addends, well, most common combinations such as 5+5=10; 6+4=10 and so forth. .
💡 GOAL: to master SUBITIZING: which is the ability to instantly recognize without counting the number of objects present in a small group. So with practice, you child should instantly tell you what 6 is made of without counting actual beads! .
