WHAT IS INSIDE ♡ Hearts PLAY DOUGH Kit:

1. play-dough ~ PLEASE SPECIFY IF you would like RED or MARBLED ~ (non-toxic, strawberry essential oil scented) – if you would like me to leave OUT the essential oil/glitter, please leave a note under your order!

Here is a fun DIY you can make with a recycled toilet paper roll. All you need is a hot glue gun! It is super fun to add another twist to your Hearts Strawberry Play Dough Kit.

DIY-TPR-STAMP-Play-Dough-Kit

Please NOTE: the PLAY DOUGH is ALL NATURAL completely NON-TOXIC! It has been hand-made from food-grade ingredients by me with love. Only red-colored play dough is scented with strawberry fragrance oil, which can be omitted upon request. And since my play dough has NO artificial chemical preservatives, it WILL develop mold eventually! See HERE the official U.S. approved Patent (1) commercial play dough and HERE US Patent (2).  So, the play dough should last from 1-6 months. But please, inspect for black dots (mold) prior to each use and discard immediately if you see any and use my recipe to make a new batch. Please discard it after 6 months.

Moreover, in my opinion, if a sensory “toy” cannot be sanitized, cleaned, or wiped, it should NOT be stored for long, as inevitably, it will be a breeding ground for bacteria/viruses, etc. I create play dough with little people in mind so it is SAFE for YOUR CHILD and for the ENVIRONMENT!

Also, the play dough WILL dry due to improper storage or handling/playing and by wetting hands and mending it, it will regain its elasticity and softness! 

Lastly, while the TASTE-SAFE version is available by omitting glitter and/or fragrance oil (leave a comment under your order), the play dough has very high salt content, so it’s NOT recommended to be eaten.

Playdough should be stored in an airtight jar, I prefer to wrap it in a food wrap as well. Keep it in a cool dark place with low humidity. 

Recommended for children 6 M+. Adult supervision is required.

♡ SENSORY PLAY: using play-dough provides a wide array of developmental, learning, and especially sensory benefits. Tactile stimulation is extremely important for the developing brain since the “sensitive period” (which Dr. Montessori defined as a period of special sensitivity to particular stimuli) from birth till the age of five is sensory refinement. So, it is extremely important to trigger sensory stimuli through the power of tactile play since whatever is perceived through the hand, goes directly to the brain!

♡ FINE MOTOR CONTROL: when children practice small muscle hand control by kneading, tonging, pinching, transferring, etc, they develop the strength, dexterity, and control needed to manipulate many everyday items such as a pencil, spoon, button, scissors, zippers, and more … “He does it with his hands, by experience, first in play and then through work. ♡ BILATERAL COORDINATION is the ability to use both sides of the body at the same time in a coordinated manner. For example, when the child holds play dough with one hand and cuts with scissors with the other, s/he is developing bilateral coordination.

♡ DEXTERITY, which is perfecting skills and ease in using their hands.

♡ HAND-EYE coordination, which is the ability to coordinate the information received through the eyes to control, guide, and direct the hands in the accomplishment of a given task.

♡ MATH: numeral to quantity association and 1:1 correspondence are very important concepts for a child to understand in order to lay a solid foundation for future abstract mathematical concepts. 1:1 correspondence is the ability to match an object (heart gem) to the corresponding number and recognize that a number is merely a symbol to represent that quantity! Young children often learn “rote counting” without having an understanding of 1 :1 correspondence. They learn to count till 10 just like a heart-learned poem! So, have them TOUCH & COUNT ALOUD each heart gem as they match them to its corresponding numeral.

♡ CRAFTING: children are innately very curious and imaginative, so providing a thoughtful stimulating prepared environment with lots of opportunities for artistic expression, will naturally spur creativity and self-expression!
