Today, we were picking red and yellow raspberries (Pick Your Own) at a nearby farm. The farm's pamphlet said: "conditions for picking are excellent", but a lot of raspberries were either picked already or still green. However, for a child, it is the process that brings true satisfaction, not the result. Both children so enjoyed it, and Adrian kept saying: "It is so fun!"
"The satisfaction which [children] find in their work has given them a grace and ease like that which comes from music." (Dr. Maria Montessori, 'The Discovery of the Child', Clio Press Ltd, 87)
There were so many of these little pollinators.
Passing a sunflower field.
We never forget to feed them:)
"There must be [a] provision for the child to have contact with nature; to understand and appreciate the order, the harmony and the beauty in nature.”— Maria Montessori.
