Below are some of the kids ๐ฌโ๏ธโ๏ธ science experiments we have conducted. Leave a comment if you have done any already or if you find something new and exciting on our Science Experiment page.
๐Measuring ๐ฆLiquid
This is a very hands-on presentation on measuring the volume. We first talked about the ways we can measure things. For example, to measure length, height, and width, we use metrics like inches (or sm /mm in Europe). We then talked about measuring volume like water in a bathtub or milk in a cup. We discussed ml, oz, cups/ spoons and gallons. Here, we learned to measure ml. I hot-glued bottle caps and wrote different measures from 0.1 to 2 ml, and using a syringe, children had to fill their caps.
Buy glass test tubes (come with cork stoppers) here and wooden test tube rack here. Buy droppers here (I love that you can remove the silicon bulb to properly dry and prevent mold accumulation). Buy mini measuring beaker set here.

This science/sensory play will help your child explore gravity, motion, problem solving and exercise fine and gross motor control. They will also discover the transition of solid to liquid and what makes the ice melt (the salt and warm water). Happy learning through play!

Tipping Tower Inertia Force and Gravity Gross Motor Game
This tipping tower Science Experiment is super fun gross motor game. Not only your child will have to practice those hands muscles, but will also learn precision, swiftness, and force. Build a tower on a smooth table using wooden building blocks or a stacking pyramid. Offer your child to quickly slice with the wooden fork (you can also use a ruler) through the bottom of the tower by sliding it along the table. With some practice, Adrian was able to knock out the bottom block without toppling the tower. Such quick motion that knocks the bottom block out is too small a force to overcome the inertia of the whole tower. So, the blocks slide out one by one due to the swift force, while the tower remains standing thanks to the force of gravity!
