A child can be introduced to finger painting even before his/her first birthday, when it is more about sensorially feeling the texture of the paint by dipping the hands and smearing them on a paper. At 2 1/2, it is more about an art project: painting in the lines, choosing the appropriate color, being precise. So, today we are finger-painting the ducky.
First, Adrian painted the "water" using a paint brush.

p.s I have been using with Julia, and now with Adrian since his birth "Shkola Semi Gnomov" Series, which is a yearly compilation of books (12 books per year) with specialized curriculum in Russian, targeting all main area of education: from vocabulary and math, to art and logic, and much more. (The ducky above is from the "Art book".) We have been very happy with the Series.
School of Seven Dwarves" is a complex system of lessons for children, from newborns to school entrants, in 12 colorful educational aids for each year of a child's life. Each age level has its own color, dwarf and books. The seven years before school are the seven colors of the rainbow!
