Best DIY Christmas Ornaments Crafts For Kids

Easy DIY Finger Printing Glitter ornament, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer shredded paper, and Jingle Bell Christmas Tree Ornaments are fun crafts for kids or as school classroom celebrations, making it also the perfect family Holiday activity.

How do you make easy and fun Christmas ornaments? First of all, use plastic ornaments rather than glass, and involve kids in the process! Who does not like fingerprinting or threading tiny jingle bells on a fishing wire to decorate a pom pom-filled Christmas tree ornament? Besides, you will use regular craft supplies like pom poms and paints and recycled materials like shredded packing paper. Most importantly, these easy DIY Christmas Ornaments crafts make the cutest keepsakes or Holiday gifts. And when done, they can adorn our Christmas tree, thus adding a personal touch to your interior decor.

Materials You’ll Need to Make DIY Ornaments:

For each craft, we are using a plastic ornament. Below, see the additional supplies needed for each individual craft.

Finger Printing Glitter Ornament

You’ll Need:

TIP: You will need to place an ornament on a cup to dry. Thus, do not make any prints on the lower part of the ornament to prevent smudging.

Instructions:

Start with a single color. First, dip a child’s index finger in green paint and print throughout the ornament, leaving space in between for the red prints. Then, while the green paint is still wet, sprinkle the prints generously with green glitter. Lastly, place an ornament on the cup, standing up, and let it dry.

Repeat with the red color. Once both colors are printed and dusted with glitter, stand the ornament on the cup and let it dry thoroughly. Once dry, your glitter finger printing ornaments are ready to adorn your tree!

You’ll Need:

Instructions:

First, open the top of the ornament and push the shredded paper through, filling it up. Close the ornament. Then place two self-adhesive googly eyes in the middle. You can either use a hot glue gun or glue dots to secure a red pom-pom as a nose. Finally, cut out two antlers (mirror image) from the self-adhesive brown foam paper and secure them to the top of the ornament. Ta-da! Your Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer ornament is ready!

Jingle Bell Christmas Tree Ornament

Jingle Bell Christmas Tree Ornament

You’ll Need:

Instructions:

First, open an ornament and fill it with green pom-poms to resemble a pine tree. Then, it is time to decorate a Christmas tree. Glue one end of a fishing wire to the top of the ornament. Now it is time to thread the tiny jingle bells on the fishing wire. [We decided to make a pattern: red-gold-silver-green, also known as the ABCD pattern, but it is optional.] I suggest securing every four or three bells to the ornament with a glue dot so that the wire stays in place. We love how the Jingle Bell Christmas Tree Ornament came out, and it is one of the favorites since you can move the bells along the wire, adding a fun twist to an ornament.
