New-Years Play fizzy-flutes drink STEM science experiment for kids is a traditional baking soda and vinegar reaction activity with a fun New Year twist. Besides, you will be using regular household items, so no specialized materials are required. Most importantly, this cool STEM experiment is taste-safe, so it is suitable for toddlers since we are using edible glitter. So, who is ready to science-brate?
This New Year’s activity is also great for promoting fine motor control and pouring skills. Thus, you will have easy science, busy hands, and happy kids!

For New-Years Fizzy-Flutes Kids STEM, You’ll Need:
- a waterproof tray
- flutes or glasses
- baking soda
- edible glitter
- vinegar

Instructions:
First, pour 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda into each glass. Then, add edible glitter.
Next, mix the party drink {vinegar}! Pour the vinegar into the glasses and enjoy the fizzy fun!
p.s. If you mind the smell of vinegar, you can substitute it for lemon juice, which also works.
