Toilet-Paper-Roll TPR FIREWORKS kids craft painting recycled DIY promotes fine motor control and scissors skills in toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners.
Whether you like watching fireworks on New Year’s Eve or on the 4th of July, 4th of July, this recycled kids craft is our absolute favorite! Besides, all you need for this FIREWORKS DIY is a recycled toilet paper roll TPR. Most importantly, with this craft, your little one will be exercising fine motor and scissors skills while expressing creativity!
YOU’ll NEED for this TPR FIREWORKS DIY
- a recycled toilet paper roll (TPR) ~ cut one side to make a fringe
- dark construction paper (since fireworks usually happen at night)
- paints (choose according to the holiday you are celebrating)
During this FIREWORKS Recycled Kids CRAFT, your little one is exercising fine motor control and bilateral coordination, but holding TPR with one hand and cutting with another. For instance, small children have no preference for using either hand. So, learning to use BOTH hands together in a coordinated way is actually an important first step in developing a specialized/dominant hand. And the ability to use both sides of the body at the same time in a coordinated manner will eventually help a child learn to use one hand dominantly and the other to assist. Moreover, your preschooler is refining hand-eye coordination, which is the ability to coordinate the information received through the eyes to control, guide, and direct the hands in the accomplishment of a given task. Lastly, this recycled craft is a fun opportunity to express creativity!
WHY IS PAINTING IMPORTANT
Painting can help children communicate their emotions or feelings and express creativity! Through the use of different colors, little people can express themselves without the use of words. Moreover, painting aids a child in developing mobility skills by using and strengthening hand muscles, thus offering opportunities to develop both mentally and physically.
WHAT can possibly your 2-year-old DO:
– turn pages in a book
– snips with scissors
– hold a pencil or a crayon with thumb and fingers (early pencil grasp skills!)
– use one hand consistently for most activities.
Toilet-Paper-Roll TPR FIREWORKS DIY is suitable for AGE 2Y + (although at that age, an adult would have to cut the fringe on the TPR) . Always supervise your child!
