Q-tip Rainbow Painting Craft Tutorial
Q-TIP RAINBOW PAINTING CRAFT INSTRUCTION
First, draw a rainbow. Then, make a flower from seven Q-tips by placing one in the middle and arranging the six around it. Thereafter, secure Q-tips tightly with a rubber band. [A Tip: You can create a similar “flower” on the other end as well.] Next, pour rainbow color paints into a recycled egg carton. Lastly, offer a child to follow rainbow rays by dipping a Q-tip in a color matching paint and following the ray.
AGE 3Y +. Always supervise your child! For smaller children, offer to finger paint and SKIP the Q-TIP!
Educational Benefits
BEFORE you put a pencil in your child’s hand, let them explore the world through SENSES. Before your little one can write, s/he must have enough fine motor control and hand strength. And the best way to develop it, is by offering little hands to dot and paint, poke and pull, cut and manipulate, pinch and transfer!
What the hand does, the mind remembers.
Moreover, the added sensory input of Q-TIP painting helps the brain to encode (put to memory) the way in which to draw shapes. (If you think of it, numbers and letters are all made out of curves and lines!) So exposing little people EARLY to hands-on tracing, painting, dotting, etc, helps them embark on an academic journey with well-developed motor control!
